Pasig orders closure of 9 Discaya-owned companies
The Pasig City local government has ordered the shutdown of nine companies owned by contractor couple Sarah and Curlee Discaya over unpaid taxes.
According to reports on "24 Oras" and on dzBB by Glen Juego on Friday, the firms included St. Gerard Construction, which was one of the two Discaya construction firms with recently revoked corporate registrations.
The closure order was reportedly issued after Pasig City revoked the Discayas’ business permits for failure to settle more than P1 billion in taxes. The firms were also allegedly operating without occupancy permits.
The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board also earlier revoked the contractor's licenses of the nine construction companies.
Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla earlier said that the Discaya couple may be facing nine cases in total. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
