Guanzon files raps vs mall goer in viral video
Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said Sunday she has filed a complaint against the unidentified mall-goer she was seen arguing with in a viral video.
Guanzon filed cases of unjust vexation and grave oral defamation against the man on Saturday.
“Nag-reklamo po talaga ako sa police and filed a case for unjust vexation and grave oral defamation last night, kahit gabing-gabi na. I wasn’t feeling well, and I was tired, and I had no dinner,” she said in a video posted on her Facebook page.
(I really filed a complaint with the police and filed a case for unjust vexation and grave oral defamation last night, even though it was very late. I wasn’t feeling well, I was tired, and I hadn’t had dinner.)
The viral clip showed a visibly furious Guanzon confronting two individuals at a mall in Makati City, directing her anger at the man.
“Hindi ka nga naka-Rolex! Hindi ka nga naka-Gucci!... I want your name!” she told the man.
(You’re not even wearing a Rolex! You’re not even wearing Gucci!... I want your name!)
Guanzon, however, claimed the confrontation began after the man mocked her for not wearing a mask.
“Sabihan ba naman niya ako sa Rockwell Mall, ‘You’re coughing, you should leave the mall, you should stay at home.’ Doon ’yun nagsimula. At saka ang dami kong kilala doon sa Rockwell Mall… kilala ko sila, kilala nila ako,” she said.
(He had the audacity to tell me at Rockwell Mall, ‘You’re coughing, you should leave the mall, you should stay at home.’ That’s where it started. And I know so many people there—residents who know me and whom I know.)
“Napahiya talaga ako doon sa ginawa nung tao na ’yun. Sabihan ka ba naman, ‘Don’t you have money to buy a mask?’ Bawal pala sa kanya kahit umubo ka lang nang minsan, kahit nasa Rockwell Mall ka,” she added.
(I was truly humiliated by what that person did. How can he tell you, ‘Don’t you have money to buy a mask?’ Apparently, for him, you can’t even cough once, even if you’re inside Rockwell Mall.)
