Dog found in Valenzuela City with tongue cut out
The fur family of a dog, whose tongue was cut off, is seeking the help of animal welfare groups and the police to investigate the incident and to bring the perpetrator to justice, according to the report of Emil Sumangil on "Saksi" Thursday.
In a CCTV footage, a dog can be heard howling as if in pain late Tuesday evening. A light that seem to come from a motorcycle or a vehicle can be seen in the video.
The family of Rodlee Rivera-Zulueta then found their pet dog bloodied with its tongue cut off. They found the dog's tongue not far from their house.
Rivera-Zulueta said their dog was tied up inside the compound but was able to escape. They spent hours searching for the dog and found it bleeding and weak.
The dog was brought to a veterinary clinic an tested positive for some diseases.
Dr. Maricel Taca, a veterinarian, said the dog's tongue cannot be reattached. But, the dog is in the recovery stage.
It was also observed that the dog can drink water, but without a tongue, it had to use its snout.
The dog needs much support, care and medications.
Rivera-Zulueta said they have no clue as to who is involved in cutting off the dog's tongue, adding that they do not have enemies.
They dog has not bitten any one and was never aggressive.
"Sobra pong lambing nun. Doon lang pos siya sa bahay namin at hindi siya nakakulong. Nakatali lang po siya doon at naapproach siya ng ibang tao," said River-Zulueta.
She added that they already approached animal welfare groups and the police for the conduct of an investigation into the incident. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
