Taguig drug bust nets 5 suspects, P176M worth of shabu, marijuana

Police arrested five men in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City over the weekend and seized over P176 million worth of shabu, high-grade marijuana and vape pens with marijuana oil.

In a report, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) said the drug bust was carried out in Barangay Napindan, Taguig City on Saturday.

Five men aged between 24 to 54 years old – all considered high value drug targets – were arrested during the operation.

Authorities recovered 25.5 kilos of suspected shabu, 1.77 kilos of suspected high-grade marijuana leaves or “kush,” and 140 pieces of marijuana oil karts or vape pens that use marijuana oil, as well as a 9 mm Glock pistol.

The seized narcotics were worth P176.265 million.

The suspects were brought to the PNP DEG Special Operations Unit in Metro Manila while the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the PNP Forensic Group for laboratory examination. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
