NLEX offers free toll on Christmas, New Year's Eve

The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will be toll-free for Christmas and New Year's Eve.

According to Dano Tingcungco's Thursday report on "24 Oras," the free toll will also be available in the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and NLEX Connector. 

It will be available from December 24, 10 p.m. to December 25, 6 a.m., and from December 31, 10 p.m, to January 1, 6 a.m.

Starting Friday, December 19, roadworks along NLEX are suspended. 

Counterflow lanes will also be opened from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., but may be extended if needed. 

"In case na talagang gagamitin nila, instead of using on ramp ng Skyward Stage 3 sa may Balintawak area, doon nalang po sa A. Bonifacio area yung on ramp ng Skyward stage 3," said Robin Ignacio, NLEX AVP for Traffic Operations. 

(In case they really need to use it, instead of using the ramp of Skyway Stage 3 in the Balintawak area, they could use the one in A. Bonifacio area.)  —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
