Fire engulfs warehouse in Caloocan City

A fire broke out in a warehouse in Caloocan City before dawn on Sunday.

The affected warehouse in Barrio Pacita served as storage for packaging materials such as plastic, according to a report by Rod Vega on Super Radyo dzBB.

The fire was first reported at 4:21 a.m. and quickly reached the second alarm at 4:43 a.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The BFP said firemen had difficulty putting out the fire due to the combustible materials in the warehouse located on J. Mariano Street in Barangay 95.

Thick black smoke could be seen from EDSA.

The warehouse's roof caved in as the fire raged.

Two lanes of EDSA were occupied by fire trucks responding to the incident.

The BFP raised the third alarm at 5:41 a.m.

The fire was eventually deemed under control at 8:50 a.m.

No one was reported hurt in the incident. —KG, GMA Integrated News
