SMC to waive toll fees for Christmas, New Year

San Miguel Corp. (SMC) will waive toll fees across its expressway network during select hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, in anticipation of the heavy volume of motorists who will be traveling for the holidays.

In an advisory, SMC said the toll holiday will take effect from 10 p.m. on December 24 to 6 a.m. on December 25, and from 10 p.m. on December 31 to 6 a.m. on January 1, 2026.

The toll-free period will apply to all SMC-operated expressways, including the Skyway System, the NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), the STAR Tollway, and the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX).

“(T)he toll waiver is intended to benefit motorists traveling late at night to reach their families during the holidays,” SMC said.

According to SMC, safety and security measures have been placed on heightened alert, with additional patrol and security personnel deployed starting December 20. Traffic monitoring centers will also be staffed around the clock.
