EDSA rehab begins Dec. 24

Metro Manila motorists will have to contend with fewer lanes along EDSA as rehabilitation works begin at the corner of Roxas Boulevard on Wednesday night, December 24.

According to Joseph Morong’s report on 24 Oras on Tuesday, the rehabilitation will start at 11 p.m.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) plans to block off the three innermost lanes, including the EDSA Carousel busway.

From December 24 to 27, reblocking will be implemented on both the northbound and southbound lanes of EDSA from Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue in Manila.

Reblocking will also be carried out on the southbound lane of Park Avenue up to just before the northbound lane of Aurora Boulevard.

DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said reblocking will be implemented in selected areas only.

He added that asphalt overlay works will be conducted on portions of the southbound lane of EDSA from Orense in Makati to Laurins Street in Pasay, to be done lane by lane.

The DPWH said it will release a separate schedule for the EDSA rehabilitation from December 28 to January 5, 2026.

It also announced that the southbound lane of EDSA from Scout Borromeo to Kamuning will be closed from 1 a.m. on December 27 to 4 a.m. on December 28 for the construction of the Kamuning bus stop and footbridge.
