Whistle bomb on road goes off just as motorcycle passes by
An individual who set off a firecracker on a road in Taguig City has apologized after it exploded just as a motorcycle rider went past.
In Mark Salazar's report on 24 Oras Weekend on Sunday, now-viral CCTV footage shows a man setting up a whistle bomb on the road in Barangay Hagonoy, lighting it, then waving at motorists not to come near.
However, a motorcycle goes past just as the firecracker goes off, enveloping the rider in smoke.
Police were able to track the man who set off the firecracker. Despite his apology, he will still receive a ticket for violating a city ordinance on designated firecracker and fireworks areas. The fine is P5,000 and may be accompanied by as much as six months' jail time.
Police also searched nearby hospitals for the motorcycle rider, who continued on their way even as the firecracker exploded next to them. They found no one being treated for such an incident. — BM, GMA Integrated News
