PITX: Trips still available ahead of New Year
Those traveling home for the New Year can still look forward to available trips at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), the transport hub management said Tuesday.
As of 2 p.m. on Tuesday, about 98,000 passengers had used the transport hub, PITX spokesperson Jason Salvador told Super Radyo dzBB.
He said special permits were issued to accommodate travelers going to the provinces for the holidays.
“Pag may hahabol pa (na passengers), maa-accomodate pa naman namin ‘yan. Pero sa nakikita nating trend halos hindi na ganoong kadami lalong lalo na yung pupunta sa malalayong probinsiya,” Salvador said.
(We can still accommodate passengers. But based on the trend we’re seeing, there probably won’t be that many, especially those traveling to distant provinces.)
He added that PITX is preparing for passengers returning to Metro Manila, as an influx is expected from January 2 to 5.
Salvador also reminded passengers to avoid bringing prohibited items in ports, including firecrackers.
Meanwhile, Toll Regulatory Board spokesperson Julius Corpus reminded motorists to observe road courtesy.
“Kung nagkataon na nagkasabay-sabay kayo sa inyong biyahe at magbabagal ang traffic, sana dagdagan ang inyong pasensya,” Corpus said in a separate dzBB interview.
“Magbigayan tayo at umiwas sa road rage,” he added.
