NCRPO says New Year 2026 celeb peaceful with only minor injuries
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Thursday that only minor injuries have been recorded amid the celebration of New Year.
In an interview on Unang Balita, NCRPO spokesperson Police Major Hazel Asilo said that the New Year revelries across the metro have been generally peaceful. She said the early deployment of cops and police visibility in areas of convergence were effective.
Earlier, the NCRPO logged three indiscriminate firing incidents in Metro Manila where one police officer was involved.
All of them were nabbed, the NCRPO said.
Police said that a 28-year-old patrolman assigned to the Maritime Group was arrested for firing his gun in front of three minors while confronting them over noise and the use of firecrackers in Barangay Sun Valley, Parañaque City. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
