PNP to deploy 15,000 police officers for Traslacion 2026
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is all set to secure one of the country’s largest annual religious gatherings, the Traslacion, on January 9, 2026.
“Mahigit kumulang 15,000 PNP personnel ang gagamitin natin dito…,” Manila Police District spokesperson PMaj. Philip Ines said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Saturday.
(We will be deploying more or less 15,000 PNP personnel for this event.)
Ines said that this will be on top of the other personnel to be deployed by other government agencies to ensure public security and maintain order amid large crowds as devotees are expected to flock to Manila during the feast of Jesus Nazarene in Quiapo.
He added that alternate routes will be opened as some roads will be closed to give way for the procession.
The MPD spokesperson also said that the PNP has already issued rules on prohibited items for those participating in the religious event.
