Honoring the Child Jesus, the Santo Niño de Tondo fiesta will hold its 2026 Lakbayaw Procession on January 17, 2026.
The Lakbayaw Procession in Tondo, Manila is an annual street festival that parades Santo Niño images.
Minor Basilica and Archdiocesan Shrine Parish of Santo Niño de Tondo said a Eucharistic celebration will be held at 6 a.m., while the Lakbayaw Procession will begin at 7 a.m.
No Lakbayaw Procession or any contest will be held by the church in the afternoon or evening.
Those interested in joining must register online or in the church’s office by January 13, 11 p.m.
Participants must attend the formation and meeting on January 14 at 7 p.m.
They must send a photo of their group, and their names will be posted on the church’s official Facebook page.
They must also sign a waiver to maintain the solemnity of the Lakbayaw Procession.
“Ang Lakbayaw Procession ay isang yamang pandebosyon ng ating Parokya kaya't nararapat lamang na atin itong panatiling banal at mapayapa. Ang gawaing ito ay walang katumbas na papremyo o anumang kalakip na halaga sa pagpaparangal sa Banal na Sanggol,” Minor Basilica and Archdiocesan Shrine Parish of Santo Niño de Tondo said said.
(The Lakbayaw Procession is a cherished devotional tradition of our parish, and it is only fitting that we keep it sacred and peaceful. This act of devotion carries no reward or material gain, but is solely meant to honor the Holy Child.)
Novena prayers will also be held in several barangays starting January 8 at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Eucharistic celebration at 6 p.m. for the Santo Niño de Tondo Fiesta. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
