Andas rope breaks during Traslacion 2026

A rope being used in the andas, or the carriage bearing the Jesus Nazareno image, broke on Quezon Boulevard Friday afternoon during the Traslacion, the Quiapo Church said.

Quiapo Church communications coordinator Silgen Cabrito said the incident happened at around 2:50 to 3:00 p.m. 

Cabrito also confirmed that church personnel were already in the process of installing a replacement rope.

No further details were given regarding the cause of the incident. 

Meanwhile, Cabrito said there is no confirmation yet on the report that a wheel of the andas was supposedly damaged.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
