5 hurt in Mandaluyong residential area fire
Five people were hurt while around 100 houses were damaged in fire that hit a residential area in Brgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City Monday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region said a 36-year-old man sustained blisters on his right hand; a 29-year-old man suffered a laceration on his left forearm; a 20-year-old man got abrasion on the left upper part of his abdomen; a 16-year-old boy suffered a laceration on his left foot; while an 11-year-old boy sustained abrasion on his left knee.
In a interview with Super Radyo dzBB's Mark Makalalad, Brgy. Addition Hills Chairman Carlito Cernal said the affected families will be brought to the evacuation center.
Initial report from BFP-NCR showed that the fire started past 6 a.m. First alarm was declared at 6:12 a.m.; second alarm at 6:28 a.m.; and third alarm at 7:34 a.m.
The fire was declared under control at 8:56 a.m. and put out at 9:17 a.m.

The BFP deployed 17 fire trucks and two ambulances to the area.
In a social media post, the Philippine Red Cross said it dispatched one fire truck and one ambulance with trained personnel on board.
