Power bank being charged explodes in Senate building
By GMA Integrated News
A power bank that was being charged inside the premises of the Senate building in Pasay City reportedly exploded on Thursday afternoon.
The power bank that exploded was being charged inside the office of the Bills and Index Bureau on the second floor of the building, based on a report of Nimfa Ravelo of Super Radyo dzBB.
According to the Senate's electrical department, the power bank might have overheated. The device was also reportedly plugged into an extension cord.
A fire extinguisher was immediately used to prevent possible fire.
It could be recalled that on November 30, 2025, fire broke out on the third floor of the Senate building, which resulted in water leakage into the session hall. — Giselle Ombay/BM, GMA Integrated News
