2 dead in fire that hit a residential area in Makati City


Two people died after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Tejeros in Makati City early Saturday.

The news was confirmed to reporters by Makati Mayor Nancy Binay, according to GMA Integrated News reporter Bea Pinlac.

"Based on the report sa akin ng Fire Department, nakakalungkot na balita kasi mayroong mag-asawa na nasawi sa sunog ngayong umaga," Binay said.

(Based on the report to me of the Fire Department, the sad news is that there was a husband and wife who died in the fire this morning.)

 

The fire hit a residential area in Barangay Tejeros in Makati City early Saturday, according to a report by Olan Bola on Super Radyo dzBB.

The affected area is along D. Gomez St. corner Sandico St., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The fire started before 2 a.m. and reached the third alarm at 2:35 a.m.

It was placed under control at 4:26 a.m., the BFP said, Mao dela Cruz reported on Dobol B TV.

Fire out was declared at 6:40 a.m., according to the BFP.

Six people – two men and four women – were slightly injured in the incident, it added.
