Korean national considered most wanted arrested at NAIA

Police arrested in Pasay City on Friday night a Korean national listed as most wanted due to a rape case.

The Korean national has a standing arrest warrant issued by a court with no bail recommended.

The accused was served the warrant of arrest at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 by operatives of the NAIA Police Station 1 in coordination with the Manila Police District-Women and Children Concern Section (MPD-WCCS), the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

The suspect was placed immediately under the custody of MPD-WCCS.

“This arrest demonstrates that the PNP respects and enforces the authority of the courts at all times. Walang sinuman ang maaaring umiwas sa pananagutan (No one can escape responsibility),” PNP acting chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said.

“Our responsibility is to ensure that justice is pursued and that victims are given the protection they deserve. Patuloy naming gagampanan ang aming tungkulin para sa kaligtasan ng mamamayan (We will continue to fulfill our duty for the safety of citizens),” he added. —KG, GMA Integrated News
