Car sales agent a person of interest in slain policewoman's death
A car sales agent is now a person of interest in the death of the policewoman who was reported missing before being found dead in Bulacan.
According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on "24 Oras," the police are looking at different angles on the motive behind the crime.
“Since nagkaroon ng transaction, tinitingnan natin ang anggulo na dahil po ito sa pera,” Southern Police District spokesperson Lieutenant Margaret Panaga.(Since a transaction took place, we are looking at the angle involving money.)
The police found that the agent is a godchild of the victim.“Inaanak ng victim sa kasal ‘tong agent po. ‘Yung trust po nandoon since kakilala po ni victim ‘tong si agent, siya po naging middle man sa pagbebenta ng sasakyan nila,” said Panaga.
The agent is now missing, but authorities on Wednesday entered his house in Quezon City, where the police officer was last seen alive, by virtue of a search warrant.
The blood traces found in the house will be compared to the blood of the victim.
“For confirmatory pa po ‘yun kung ito po ay human blood. Ima-match po sa DNA ng victim,” said Panaga.
(It is still for confirmation if this is human blood. It will be matched against the victim’s DNA.)
Authorities have yet to determine what kind of firearm was used against the victim, as there were no empty shell casings recovered.
“As per intial autopsy report, isang tama lang po siya, sa may taas po ng tenga, bandang kaliwa at tumagos sa collar bone,” said Panaga.
(As per the initial autopsy report, she sustained a single gunshot wound above the left ear, which exited through the collarbone.)
Meanwhile, the former husband of the victim understands why he is also being investigated in the case.
“Kasi ‘yun nga, dati kong asawa. May mga bagay na di namin napagkakaunawaan. Naawa ako kasi doon sa sinapit niya, di naman niya deserve yung ganung ano,” Police Senior Master Sergeant John Mollenido said.
(Because, well, she’s my former wife. There were misunderstandings between us. I feel sorry for what happened to her. She didn't deserve that.)Missing son
Meanwhile, the 8-year-old son of the slain policewoman is still missing. He was last seen together with her mother before she was found dead.
“Kung sino man, ay sana ilabas niyo na yung apo ko. Maawa naman kayo,” said Norma Gabres, the mother of the killed policewoman.
(Whoever has him, I hope you release my grandson. Please, have mercy.)
“Mahal na mahal ko yung bata na ‘yun. Sana ibalik niyo lang sa amin ng buhay,” said Mollenido.
(I love that child very much. I just hope you return him to us alive.) –Vince Angelo Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
