Another suspect in deaths of policewoman, son surrendered —NCRPO’s Aberin
Another suspect in the deaths of Police Senior Master Sergeant Diane Marie Mollenido and her eight-old son John Ysmael surrendered to authorities on Monday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said.
NCRPO chief Police Major General Anthony Aberin confirmed to GMA News Online that the suspect went to Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD CIDU).
“Opo (Yes). Today. QCPD CIDU,” Aberin told GMA News Online in a message.
Before this surrender, a total of four persons have been brought to police custody in connection with the killings including the ex-husband and father of the victims, Police Senior Master Sergeant John Mollenido.
These also include a car agent and her partner, who is also a former cop; as well as another suspect.
On January 29, the body of Ysmael was found at a calamansi farm in Victoria, Tarlac. On January 24, his mother Diane was also found lifeless in a creek in Pulilan, Bulacan with a gunshot wound to the head.
They were last seen on January 16 and were officially reported missing on January 19 by John.
Based on the initial investigation, the Southern Police District said Diane and Ysmael went missing as they were set to meet the car agent in Quezon City after selling a vehicle. The police found that the agent is a godchild of Diane.
Authorities entered the car agent’s house in Quezon City, where the policewoman was last seen alive, by virtue of a search warrant. Blood traces were found in the house.
One of the suspects alleged that he witnessed the aftermath of the shooting at the residence of the car agent and her partner on the evening of January 16. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
