US Embassy to citizens: Be on alert for possible Manila protest


The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines warned its Citizens  to stay alert amid expected anti-U.S. protests in Manila on Friday.

"The protest is scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2026. The group will assemble along Kalaw Avenue at 9:30 a.m. and begin marching toward the Embassy at approximately 9:45 a.m. with approximately 50-100 expected attendees," the US Embassy said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

"The protest will include a range of organizations and associations, from the Philippines-Palestine Friendship Association to the Philippines-Bolivarian Venezuela Friendship Association, calling for action against “U.S. Imperialist Wars and Fascism,”" it added.

The embassy advised citizens to avoid rallies in case of possible violent events, and to monitor local information for possible traffic updates. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
