Fatima U to offer 100 scholarships for aspiring medical students
Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) will again offer 100 scholarship slots for its College of Medicine for school year 2026–2027.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the university said the initiative supports the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act by helping expand the country’s healthcare workforce.
OLFU is offering the Leonora Juzgaya Scholarship Grant, which provides full tuition coverage, a ₱5,000 monthly dormitory allowance or free accommodation at the university dormitory, a ₱7,000 monthly food stipend, and free medical books.
The university also offers percentage-based tuition assistance to qualified applicants.
OLFU said the scholarship program aims to help ensure quality healthcare for Filipinos by strengthening the country’s pool of medical professionals.
It added that the grant, which covers tuition, monthly allowances, and support for living and educational expenses, enables aspiring Filipino doctors—especially those with limited financial means—to pursue medical education.
“This directly contributes to growing the pool of future doctors who can help address workforce gaps in underserved communities and strengthen primary and preventive care, key components of UHC service delivery,” the statement said.
Applicants must take the in-person scholarship exam (IPSE) and present a National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) score of at least 40.
“Graduates with Latin honors and those from reputable pre-medical institutions are given merit consideration,” OLFU said.
Weekly IPSE examinations will be held at the Valenzuela City campus on February 21; March 7 and 21; April 11 and 25; and May 2. Additional venues may be announced later.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
