Dad of student who fell near LRT-1 station won’t file raps vs driver
The father of the student who fell near a station of the LRT-1 along EDSA in Quezon City will not press charges against the driver who allegedly ran over the victim after the fall.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the driver was released from custody on Thursday afternoon after the father executed a notarized letter stating that he is not pursuing a complaint against the driver.
In a statement, the QCPD said its initial investigation and review of CCTV footage revealed no clear signs of negligence on the part of the driver.
Police noted that the driver cooperated with authorities when he was placed under custody as part of the investigation process to ensure proper documentation and compliance with legal requirements.
“The QCPD extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved family and assures the public of its commitment to conduct a fair, impartial, and transparent investigation,” the statement read.
