QCPD: Alleged middleman in House employee killing arrested in Bulacan

The middleman in the fatal shooting of a 63-year-old employee of the House of Representatives was arrested in Bulacan, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said on Friday.

At a press conference, QCPD chief Police Brigadier General Randy Glenn Silvio said an arrest warrant was served against the suspect in Barangay Bagong Buhay 2, San Jose del Monte on Thursday.

The arrested suspect is facing a murder charge.

He is now under the custody of the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit for documentation and proper disposition.

In June 2025, Mauricio “Morrie” Pulhin, chief of the Technical Staff of the House committee on ways and means, was shot while attending the birthday celebration of his daughter.

He was brought to a hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

A total of four suspects in the killing have been arrested so far, according to Silvio. Three more suspects including the mastermind remain at large.

“The successful service of the warrant against the middleman is a significant step toward justice for the victim and his family,” Silvio said.

“QCPD remains steadfast in its pursuit of all those responsible. We assure the public that our intensified manhunt operations will continue until every individual involved in this crime is brought before the court of law,” he added. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
