EDSA rehab phase 1 finished by July 2026 —DPWH

The Department of Public Works And Highways (DPWH) announced on Monday that Phase 1 of the EDSA rehabilitation is expected to be completed by July this year.

“We are currently close to 50% of Phase 1. So we want to complete this all by July 2026 with the sidewalks,” DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said at a press conference.

“Maganda ang progress ng EDSA rehab. In fact, quite advanced 'yung progress,” he added.

According to Dizon, the improvements on EDSA busway have been completed but the rehabilitation works on sidewalks will take until July.

The DPWH is now in the final stages of the preparation for the procurement of the Phase 2 of the EDSA rehabilitation, which covers Orense to Cubao.

The rehabilitation works on EDSA started on December 24, 2025.

According to Dizon, the DPWH is still asking permission from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to have round-the-clock rehabilitation schedules during the Holy Week.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
