Vlogger’s drones stolen while he slept at QC parking lot
The drones of a travel vlogger were stolen while he was sleeping outside his tuktuk or three-wheeled vehicle in a parking lot in Congressional Avenue, Quezon City.
According to Vonne Aquino’s report on “State of the Nation” on Wednesday, CCTV footage showed that the suspect went to the tuktuk and checked on the victim, who was sleeping at that time.
He first tried to steal the vlogger’s cellphone, but failed to do so. The suspect later opened the tuktuk’s door carefully and grabbed the bag containing two drones.
The suspect checked the bag’s content on the side and went back to the tuktuk to steal other items. However, the victim’s dog barked and he immediately fled.
“Pagmulat ng mata ko, bukas na yung pinto ko sa harap. Tapos wala na yung nakapatong kong drone, so doon na ako naalarma, na tinawag ko na yung guard dito,” said John Aldwin Bagabagon.
(When I opened my eyes, my front door was already open. Then the drone I had placed there was gone, so that’s when I got alarmed and called the guard here.)
Bagabagon did not expect that his items would be stolen, as it was his second time sleeping in the said parking lot.
The total value of the drone and its accessories is P130,000.
“Sana makonsensya ka sa ginawa mo. Ang tagal kong pinag-ipunan ‘yun bago ko nabili,” said Bagabagon.
(I hope your conscience bothers you for what you did. I saved up for that for a long time before I was able to buy it.)
In another CCTV footage, the suspect was caught running until he rode on a tricycle. The police have already identified the suspect based on the footage.
“Nakita po natin sa CCTV footage yung mismong klarong mukha ng suspect so nakakuha tayo ng information sa tulong din ng mga operatiba ng Station 3,” said Quezon City Police District Station 15 commander Police Lieutenant Colonel Dave Anthony Capurcos.
(We saw the suspect's face clearly in the CCTV footage, so we were able to obtain information with the help of the operatives from Station 3.)
Authorities are now hunting the suspect. The police are also looking for the driver of the tricycle that the suspect hopped on. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
