Mastermind in chop-chop slay of Chinese man arrested
Police arrested the Taiwanese man who is the alleged mastermind in the killing of a Chinese citizen whose body was chopped and mixed into a drum with kimchi sauce in Pasay City.
In Dano Tingcungco’s report on Wednesday’s “24 Oras”, the arrest came four days after the grisly remains were discovered in Binondo, Manila.
Pasay police nabbed the 32-year old Taiwanese citizen known as Alias Davao at a hotel casino in Paranaque City at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The man is tagged as behind the killing of the victim, who was identified as Alias Xiangyang.
The suspect’s live-in partner assisted the cops to determine his whereabouts.
Authorities recovered a metal saw and chopping knife that are believed to have been used in dismembering the remains of the victim, who was identified through a membership shopping card that was recovered by investigators.
The suspect was caught on CCTV footage of a Pasay City condominium pushing a trolley carrying a large blue plastic drum on February 15.
Alias Davao is scheduled to undergo inquest proceedings at the Pasay Prosecutors Office.

Police earlier arrested the suspect’s accomplice who allegedly contracted a van to dispose of the drum containing the victim’s body. —RF, GMA Integrated News
