WALANG PASOK: Schools suspend classes for EDSA People Power 40th anniv
Several universities, colleges, and schools have announced class suspensions on February 25, 2026 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
February 25 was declared as a special working day.
The date commemorates the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution that ousted the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. — father of the current president Marcos Jr.— and installed Corazon Aquino, widow of slain senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., as president.
As of February 20, here are the list of schools that suspend classes for February 25:
Ateneo de Manila University — declared a University Holiday for its community to join other schools, communities, parishes, and organizations in the EDSA events.
De La Salle Philippines schools — announced in a statement class and work suspension to participate in mobilization efforts in connection with the EDSA anniversary.
University of Santo Tomas — classes and officers are suspended in commemoration of the EDSA anniversary.
University of the East — in observance of the EDSA anniversary, classes are suspended at Manila and Caloocan campuses.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran — announced Academic Holiday, suspending classes and office operations.
Mapúa University — there will be no classes in the Intramuros, Makati, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay campuses.
Adamson University — declared a a Non-Working School Holiday, meaning there will be no classes and work in offices, as its community is encouraged to participate in EDSA events.
