Torre: 5-minute response to road emergencies via MMDA hotline
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) general manager Nicolas Torre III on Wednesday assured a five-minute response time to road emergencies via its traffic hotline.
''Puwede actually ninyong tawagan eh, (02) 136 within five rings may sasagot sa inyo na human operator,'' Torre said in a press briefing on Wednesday.
(You can actually call (02) 136, within five rings someone will answer your call.)
According to Torre, the improved system integrates faster coordination between on-ground responders and Metrobase operators who are stationed at the MMDA command center in Pasig City.
Torre ensured that the MMDA has enough manpower to address the needs of those motorists who will experience road emergencies.
He said the 136 hotline has been operational for years but the MMDA aims to highlight it among motorists.
Torre earlier said the MMDA will implement a five-minute response policy for traffic accidents. —RF, GMA Integrated News
