2 injured as fire hits Barangay UP Campus residential area
Two persons were injured after a fire razed three houses along CV Francisco Street in Barangay UP Campus, Quezon City early Friday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the blaze broke out around 5 a.m. in the residential area and reached the first alarm, according to a report of James Agustin on GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita.
Residents tried to put out the blaze before firefighters arrived but the flames continued to spread.
A total of 21 fire trucks responded to the area and the fire was declared out after 40 minutes.
Two people sustained injuries to the leg and foot as they escaped the fire. At least five families were affected.
Only a washing machine and a speaker were saved from the fire.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire and the estimated cost of the damaged properties.
