₱112M worth of shabu seized, Malaysian nabbed at NAIA
Authorities have seized P112 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested a Malaysian national at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.
The 23-year-old suspect arrived from Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
Upon inspection, authorities found three bags in the suspect’s luggage, two of which contained wooden wine boxes wrapped in bubble wrap.
The boxes contain transparent bags of crystalline substance suspected of being shabu, weighing approximately 16,526 grams.
Authorities also recovered personal belongings of the suspect, including travel documents, bank cards, assorted foreign currencies, and a mobile phone.
The confiscated drug evidence was submitted to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Laboratory Service for laboratory examination.
Meanwhile, the suspect will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
