BFP personnel rescue man atop LRT-2 Antipolo station concrete beam
A 42-year-old man who climbed to the highest concrete beam of the Manila Light Rail Transit-2 Antipolo station was rescued by Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel after several hours, according to the "24 Oras" report of Raffy Tima.
The BFP personnel spent hours talking to him so that he would calm down. They also installed an inflatable rescue air cushion at the site.
The man was in danger and the sight of him atop the train station became a spectacle among motorists and pedestrians that caused traffic congestion.
By nightfall, the rescuers decided to take a hold of the man.
Aside from the negotiators, also present were the man's mother and brother. This was part of efforts to keep the man calm and to distract him.
The man's mother said, her son may have experienced intense stress. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
