Chapel spared, intact amid massive Quezon City fire

A small chapel in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City remained intact despite a massive fire that engulfed the residential area along NIA Road over the weekend, which left some 4,000 families homeless.

In a social media post of GMA Public Affairs, volunteer Angelica-anne Cayabyab shared a video of the chapel.

Surrounded by debris left by the fire, the chapel's doors remained untouched, the cross still upright, and the benches intact.

For Cayabyab, the chapel stands as a symbol to keep their faith strong amid challenges in life.

The Bureau of Fire Protection estimated the damage at nearly P4 million. Investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
