MRT-3 holds safety drills with PNP-SAF

The Department of Transportation’s Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) conducted a two-day routine safety drill with the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) along its train system.

In a statement issued Monday, MRT-3 said the drills were conducted on March 13 and 14 to strengthen preparedness against potential security threats within the rail system.

“Layunin ng mga pagsasanay na ito na matiyak ang mabilis, tama, at epektibong pagresponde sa anumang sitwasyon para sa kaligtasan ng bawat pasahero,” the MRT-3 management said.

(The purpose of these exercises is to ensure a quick, correct, and effective response to any situation for the safety of every passenger.)

MRT3 safety and security head Police Brigadier General Joselito Salido led a briefing and lecture aimed at maintaining a high level of security within the train system.

With the help of the Safety and Security Unit (SSU), Transport Division, Engineering Division, and maintenance provider TESP, the personnel underwent orientation on basic parts of the train and safety measures.
