P761k worth of fake Korean skincare products seized in Manila, Bulacan
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) seized over P760,000-worth of counterfeit Korean skincare products from retail stores in Binondo, Manila and a distribution warehouse in Marilao, Bulacan.
In a statement Tuesday, NBI said it launched its operation following a complaint and request to investigate the illicit distribution of fake skincare products bearing a certain brand trademark.
The NBI served the search warrants on Thursday, March 12, and confiscated 846 pieces of assorted counterfeit serum worth P761,400.
Owners of the establishment and their accomplices will face charges for trademark infringement in relation to the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
The NBI urges the public to be vigilant and purchase items from authorized distributors to ensure their safety, as unregulated ingredients may cause severe allergic reactions, chemical burns, or long-term health issues. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
