Officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Quezon City government have tapped experts to come up with Science-based solution for issues related to the operation of the Matalahib Creek Pumping Station.

The station, which is located in Talayan in Quezon City, was inspected by DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, and the executive director of UP's Project NOAH Dr. Mahar Lagmay on Wednesday.

(With the help of experts, more effective measures will be studied to alleviate flooding in Talayan to Sto. Domingo, and prevent water overflow in neighboring areas.)

(Among the solutions being considered are the installation of mobile pumps, removal of obstructing structures, and construction of retention basins so that water can flow smoothly even during heavy rains.)

Also present during the inspection were Regional Director Joel Limpengco, Assistant Regional Director Sherwin I. Galleros, QC1st District Engineer Roderick Andal, and QC2nd District Engineer Johnny Protesta, Jr. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
