Fares on the Manila Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will drop to as low as P6.50 under a newly released fare matrix implementing a 50% discount starting March 23, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said on Friday.

Under the updated matrix, stored value card users will pay between P6.50 and P16.50, depending on the distance traveled.

Single-journey ticket fares, meanwhile, will range from P8 to P18, with reduced rates applied across all stations from Recto Avenue Station to Antipolo Station.

The discounted fares cover all stations along the LRT-2 line, including Cubao, Katipunan, and Santolan.

The fare reduction is expected to ease transportation costs for daily commuters, particularly amid rising fuel prices.

A similar 50% fare discount is also being implemented on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).

The LRTA advised passengers to refer to the updated fare matrix to determine exact fares based on their origin and destination.
