Jeepney driver now in good condition after seizure during cash payout — QC LGU

The jeepney driver who lost consciousness and suffered a seizure while queuing for his P5,000 cash aid is now in good condition, the Quezon City government said Thursday.

“Maayos na ang kalagayan ng drayber na hinimatay kahapon, March 25, 2026, sa gitna ng isinagawang cash relief assistance (CRA) payout sa Quezon Memorial Circle,” the LGU said in a statement.

According to a “24 Oras” report on Wednesday, the jeepney driver suffered an electrolyte imbalance due to prolonged hunger.

His fellow jeepney drivers helped him by fanning and splashing him with water.

A responder also conducted CPR before the sick jeepney driver was brought to the Quezon City General Hospital.

The Quezon City LGU said that after a thorough examination, the driver and his family decided that he no longer needed to be admitted to the hospital.

The LGU gave him maintenance medication to manage his condition.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided additional financial aid to the jeepney driver.

“Tinitiyak ng DSWD at ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Quezon na maayos, ligtas, at organisado ang isinasagawang payout para sa mga drayber mula sa iba’t ibang grupo,” the city government said.
