Authorities recently arrested a suspect who was allegedly involved in a violent home invasion in Pasig City.

According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report in “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday, the suspect is believed to be the leader of the “True Brown Style” gang.

A report in October last year stated that the gang’s leader was captured following the incident.

During the violent home invasion, the group allegedly hurt and harassed the residents while the main suspect was caught on CCTV kissing one of the victims, a minor.

The group leader was arrested in a police operation last week. He was initially charged with physical injuries and acts of lasciviousness in connection with child abuse.

“Fortunately, lumabas yung kanyang warrant of arrest ngayong March 19. Namataan ng ating mga operatiba itong suspect natin, itong accused dito sa Barangay Pinagbuhatan,” said Police Major Loreto Tigno, chief of the investigation section of the Pasig City Police.

(Fortunately, the warrant of arrest against him came out on March 19. Our operatives spotted our suspect, the accused in this case, in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.)

Police said the suspect initially moved away from the neighborhood but authorities got a tip that he would return to his residence.

“Ayun pa rin yung claim niya – girlfriend daw niya yung babae at tinatago daw nung nanay-nanayan nung biktima doon sa bahay, kaya sapilitan nila kinuha,” Tigno said.

(He still claimed the same thing, that the girl is supposedly his girlfriend and that the victim’s foster parent was hiding the victim at home, that’s why they took her by force.)

The suspect, who is now in the Pasig City Police’s custody, has yet to comment on the matter. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/JMA, GMA Integrated News
