WATCH: Traffic situation in Metro Manila for Holy Week 2026
The exodus of Filipinos continues as they traverse major thoroughfares in Metro Manila to the provinces to observe the Holy Week.
As of the afternoon of April 1, Holy Wednesday, many cars were observed on EDSA, Roxas Boulevard, España Boulevard, Lacson Avenue, and Marcos Highway.
Several vehicles are also queuing at the North Luzon Expressway Toll Plaza Northbound.
There are still lines of passengers waiting to depart from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
Road accidents
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also reported road mishaps on Wednesday.
A road crash was reported along the northbound lane of Quirino Plaza Dilao involving a car and truck at 3:17 p.m.
A similar incident was also recorded at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Examiner Street involving two cars at 3:13 p.m.
The MMDA conducted clearing operations and apprehension of unattended vehicles along EDSA to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. — JMA, GMA News
