3 airport personnel relieved for alleged 7K theft from Australian passenger
Three airport personnel have been relieved of their posts over their alleged involvement in the theft of P7,000 from a tourist.
According to a statement on Friday, Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz said that two screeners and their supervisor have been relieved from their posts at the Ninoy Aquino Terminal 3.
The move came after an Australian tourist bound for Cebu claimed that his P7,000 had been missing and allegedly stolen by the said personnel.
“We do not tolerate such acts within our organization. Any violation of trust or misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, and those found responsible will face appropriate consequences, both criminal and administrative punishments, if warranted,” said Cruz in a statement.
He said the personnel involved in the incident are undergoing investigation. —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/LDF, GMA News
