BOC intercepts P20.65M worth of illegal drugs in Pasay City
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted almost P20.65 million worth of illegal drugs in Pasay City.
According to a statement on Friday, BOC Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC–NAIA) was able to flag three parcels during an interdiction operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center.
The first parcel from Belgium, declared as “pet food,” was found to contain 1,978 tablets of suspected ecstasy, worth an estimated P3,362,600.
A second parcel from Malaysia labelled as “outdoor wall lamps,” contained 2,418 grams of suspected shabu estimated at P16,442,400. The third parcel from the United Kingdom labelled “game” had 497 suspected ecstasy tablets estimated at P844,900.
In total, the contraband in the three parcels was valued at P20,649,900.
It has since been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for laboratory examination and proper disposition. —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/LDF GMA News
