2 arrested over vapes containing marijuana in QC
Two individuals were arrested after marijuana and marijuana-laced vaping devices were seized from them in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City, police said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the operation was carried out at around 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday in Barangay Bagong Silangan.
Arrested suspects were identified as “Taton,” 24 years old, and “Lorence,” 27.
The operation stemmed from a report by a concerned citizen regarding the alleged illegal drug activities of Taton.
An undercover officer was able to purchase P500 worth of suspected marijuana from the suspect.
Seized from the suspects were about 300 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, and around three grams of suspected high-grade marijuana or “kush,” according to the QCPD.
Aside from these, 24 disposable vaping devices containing suspected liquid marijuana were also seized from the suspects.
These items are worth P76,500.
Also recovered during the operation were sachets of marijuana, bundled dried plant material, assorted THC vape cartridges and devices in branded packaging, a mobile phone, and the marked buy-bust money.
Police said Taton previously faced a frustrated homicide case in November 2018.
The suspects are set to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
QCPD chief Police Brigadier General Randy Glenn Silvio said the police will continue intensified anti-drug operations in the city. —VAL, GMA News
