Technical issue forces LRT-1 to implement limited operations on Thursday

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) implemented limited operations for several hours on Thursday because of a technical fault at LRT-1 Vito Cruz Station.

Dr. Santos Station to Baclaran Station (vice versa) and Fernando Poe Jr. Station to Central Terminal Station (vice versa) were covered by the limited operations, which started at 10:07 am.

Full operations in all 25 stations resumed as of 2:13 p.m.

In a separate statement, the LRMC expressed its apologies to the public.

“We understand the vital importance of the LRT-1 to your commute, and we regret the added travel time and stress resulting from this situation,” it said.

The LRMC said “Libreng Sakay” buses were deployed in coordination with the Department of Transportation.

The buses were deployed between Central Station and Baclaran Station (and vice versa), according to the LRMC. —VAL/VBL, GMA News
