High-value drug suspect nabbed in Taguig

Operatives of the Taguig City Police Station (CPS) have arrested a high-value drug suspect in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ususan.

In a news release on Saturday, the Taguig police said it seized more than P342,000 worth of suspected shabu from the suspect in an operation held late Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

The buy-bust operation was led by the Taguig police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at around 10:30 p.m., which resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old delivery rider known by the alias “Orlando” —a resident of Barangay Pembo.

Authorities recovered about 50.3 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of P342,040, along with buy-bust money and a coin purse used to store the illegal drugs.

Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect, who is now under police custody.

For his part, Taguig CPS chief Police Col. Julius Añonuevo said the operation shows intensified anti-drug efforts by Taguig police, carried out in coordination with the Southern Police District, to target high-value individuals and disrupt illegal drug activities:

“This operation shows our intensified campaign against illegal drugs. With the support of Mayor Lani Cayetano, we continue to strengthen our operations to keep communities safe and hold violators accountable,” said Añonuevo. —VAL, GMA News
