Man shot dead inside home in Cainta, Rizal

Authorities found a man lying lifeless on his bed inside his home after gunshots rang out in Barangay San Juan in Cainta, Rizal.

According to EJ Gomez’s report on “24 Oras” on Monday, CCTV footage showed two suspects on a motorcycle alighting and then entering the alley leading to the victim’s house.

The camera did not capture the incident, but successive gunshots were later heard.

Still wearing their helmets, the two suspects reappeared in the CCTV footage and fled the incident.

Authorities found that the victim suffered gunshot wounds, while crime scene investigators found eight bullet castings.

Police are looking into illegal drugs as a possible motive for the shooting after recovering drug paraphernalia at the victim’s house.  

The victim was also previously involved in drug-related cases and was detained for drugs and illegal possession of a firearm.

GMA News has reached out to the victim’s family, but they refused to comment on the matter.
