The local government of Marikina announced the suspension of car-free Sundays in the city starting May 3.

According to an advisory on Friday, the indefinite suspension was implemented to protect the public from any incident and inconvenience resulting from a drainage improvement project being conducted by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) along Gil Fernando Avenue corner Aquilina Street.
