QCPD: 'Gas-and-run' incident reported on Mindanao Avenue

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Tuesday it is searching for an unidentified male driver involved in a "gas-and-run" incident at a gasoline station along Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City.

In a statement, the QCPD said the incident occurred at 3:16 a.m. Sunday in Barangay Bahay Toro.

The driver was aboard a blue sedan and allegedly loaded fuel worth P1,500 before fleeing without paying the cost, according to the QCPD.

The gasoline station attendant immediately reported the incident, prompting authorities to respond and issue a flash alarm.

Police said they are now processing and reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the station and nearby establishments to determine the identity of the suspect.

The QCPD called on the public to remain vigilant and to coordinate with authorities.

"Individuals who may recognize the suspect seen on CCTV footage are advised to report to the nearest police station or contact emergency hotlines, including E911 or the QC Helpline 122, to assist in the suspect’s identification and possible arrest," the QCPD said. — VDV, GMA News
