55-year-old woman died of heart attack while claiming cash aid in QC
A 55-year-old woman, who was waiting for her turn to claim cash assistance, died of a heart attack at the Quezon City Hall, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) spokesperson Irene Dumlao confirmed.
According to the report of Super Radyo dzBB’s Glen Juego on Thursday, the Quezon City Police District said the incident happened Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, Dumlao said that a team from the DSWD already visited the kin of the victim to extend aid including burial assistance.
For its part, the Quezon City government said the woman, a resident of Barangay Sauyo, lost consciousness and hit her head while waiting during the payout for Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation.
The woman was brought to East Avenue Medical Center, but she eventually died, the city government said.
“Nagpaabot na ng burial assistance ang lokal na pamahalaan sa pamilya ng residente. Ire-refer na rin ang kanyang bunsong anak para maging bahagi ng scholarship program ng lungsod,” the QC government said in a statement.
(The local government has already extended burial assistance to the resident's family. Her youngest child will also be referred to become part of the city's scholarship program.)
“Patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan ang lokal na pamahalaan sa pamilya ng ginang upang alamin kung paano pa sila maaaring matulungan,” it added.
(The local government continues to coordinate with the lady's family to determine how else they can be assisted.)
