The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday suspended the implementation of the Expanded Number Coding Scheme due to the expected effects of Tropical Storm Maymay and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the suspension covers Thursday, August 6, 2026.

"Suspended ang pagpapatupad ng Expanded Number Coding Scheme ngayong araw, Agosto 6, Huwebes, dahil sa inaasahang epekto ng Tropical Storm Maymay at Hanging Habagat," the agency said.

The MMDA reminded motorists to plan their trips, exercise caution while driving, and stay updated on weather advisories and other important information related to the prevailing weather conditions. —VAL, GMA News
